Now Hiring - Outside Sales Representative in Pawtucket, RI

RI's Arts and Entertainment Magazine seeks customer rep/sales associate. This is a contract position receiving a small base and primarily compensated by commission. It would require attendance at a weekly sales meeting in Pawtucket RI; otherwise you set your own hours but are expected to communicate regularly with the home office. We are looking for someone to put in about 40 hours per week. The chosen candidate will also receive a starter customer base handed down from a sales rep with 20 years experience (8 with Motif) who will stay on for two months to train her replacement and introduce them to customers.

This is an outside sales position. The ideal candidate is organized and responsible, with strong follow through. You should be passionate about the arts and entertainment scene in RI. Self-starter with lots of energy and motivation. Ideally 1-3 years outside sales experience. Motif currently has two full-time reps and two part-time. 30K is a very realistic first-year expectation, but the sky is really the only limit, since the position is commissioned. Perks include admission to shows and events in music, theater, food and more. Location: Statewide, but Motif’s headquarters is in Pawtucket, where you will be expected to show up at least twice a week for sales meetings, and where you’ll have office space you can use. During the training experience, you’re likely to hit the office almost every work day.

The magazine was founded in 2004. Since 2012, Motif has been published by Mike Ryan, who continued in the same spirit, with more focus on making the listings and coverage as comprehensive as possible – online and on paper. In addition to creating a web site and Social Media presence, Motif is always developing ideas to enhance brand recognition.

Motif is a free paper, supported in its mission by generous advertisers, and distributed twice a month to over 1,100 locations around RI with a readership of 75,000 or more. Issues are typically kept on hand by readers for up to two weeks.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
